#UKSPF course at Kirkgate, WF, where we talked about fruit tree pruning, tree ID, soil types like loam, sand, and clay followed by horticulture qualification and then art session in the afternoon.

Cultivate and cook at Cottingley Community Centre with first aid training re bleeding, CPR, recovery position, strokes, fainting, and talked about examples from our lives. we also added compost to the garden and planted garlic in pots and planted daffodil bulbs #ukspf

Wakefield Kirkgate Tuesday #UKSPF session where we propagated blackcurrant bushes, cactus through air propagation and garlic through aquaponics as well as making plant labels from milk bottles and straightened the artwork and in the afternoon we started the NOCN level 1 qualification #greenskills

In this weeks community-based arts and horticulture project based at Kirkgate Railway Station, we made sand based terrariums-perfect for cactus 🌵 who can survive longer without a drink, so good in well draining sand.

The brilliant SCC Youth Voice and Influence service “Into the Blue” group, has been in collaboration with us & the Ernest Cook Trusts “Blue Influencers” scheme. This scheme has been designed to champion youth-led environmental advocacy for ‘Blue Spaces’ – wetlands, waterways, coast and ocean.

By close of play Friday the small Pride team will have laid over 1000m2 of turf in 4 days and planted up 8 front plots including laying 10 tons of top soil.
