Today, prices reflect less what goods cost to produce, & more what corporations believe they can get away with.

Learn their strategies to be aware of how corporations are price gouging you from the lunch counter to the airport to the Uber ride home.

Walmart said their “cheaper” Thanksgiving basket proves prices are down. What they didn’t say is that it has fewer items & cheaper substitutes.

Thanksgiving dinner is up 10% this year & some staples are up nearly 60%!

Our new report with @tcfdotorg.bsky.social & @aft.org digs into who's to blame.

😰 65% say they are stressed about Thanksgiving prices
💰53% say Thanksgiving is harder to afford this year

Our new report w/ @tcfdotorg.bsky.social & @aft.org shows why Trump’s policies are to blame for a less joyful holiday.

Since 2020, the prices of basic essentials have risen by 30% with corporate profits soaring right alongside them.

This isn’t an accident, but it doesn’t have to be this way.

Our new report with @stateinnovation.org & @localprogress.bsky.social makes it clear: the crisis isn't inevitable.
November 21, 2025 at 7:01 PM
Americans spent more this year on Halloween - & Trump’s tariffs are hitting Thanksgiving too.

Expect to spend 10% more thanks to economic chaos. That’s 3x the rate of overall inflation!

Our new analysis w/ @tcfdotorg.bsky.social & @aft.org shows how Trump's policies are ruining Thanksgiving.

Our new resource with State Innovation & @localprogress.bsky.social outlines policies every city & state can adopt to put power back where it belongs: with working people.

The delayed Sept. jobs report paints a clear picture: the Trump economy is stuck in place.

Only 119K jobs added & unemployment up to 4.4%. Manufacturing & transpo have lost jobs, & revisions show we actually created 33K *fewer* jobs than previously reported.

Trump helped create the cost-of-living crisis, & now he’s scrambling for a quick fix.

A 50-year mortgage isn’t a solution. It’s a gimmick that forces families to pay thousands more in interest while doing nothing to fix sky-high housing costs.

Our @alexsjacquez.bsky.social says it all 🗣️

Same product, different price. Corporations are using your data to decide what you pay.

📱Low phone battery? Uber charges more.
🏙️Live in a higher-income ZIP code? Your hotel room just doubled.

This is surveillance pricing: Where algorithms track you to squeeze out every dollar.
November 17, 2025 at 8:00 PM
Dynamic pricing is the new frontier of corporate greed. Algorithms decide what you pay for essentials, raising prices minute by minute, person by person.

As @lindsayowens.bsky.social says: “If you wind up paying more than the person next to you, you’d be mad — but online, you’d never even know.”
November 17, 2025 at 7:11 PM
It’s not your imagination - prices really aren’t what they seem.

From apps to airlines, corporations are perfecting the art of the hidden fee - piling on “service,” “convenience,” & “processing” charges until your total doubles or triples.

Corporations call it drip pricing. We call it a rip-off.

NEW: Curious if corporations are ripping you off? They are and it’s all by design.

Check out our new explainer outlining the common & insidious ways corporations are putting a financial squeeze on consumers & drive record profits for corporations.

The NBA season is in full swing, but for many families the real challenge isn’t on the court. It’s at the concession stand.

Want to take a family of 4 to a game? Expect to spend $400+.

These price hikes aren’t an accident, they’re by design to get as much money out of your pocket as possible.
November 16, 2025 at 5:46 PM
As fans gear up for this weekend’s NFL matchups, one thing is certain: corporations are running up the score on families long before kickoff.

The typical cost for a family of 4 to attend an NFL game? $631‼️

As you cheer on your team, remember: corporate greed is the real opponent fans can’t escape.

Even Kraft-Heinz is sounding the alarm. Their CEO says consumer sentiment is “one of the worst we’ve seen in decades.”

Families are losing confidence because Trump’s economy keeps leaving them behind.
November 14, 2025 at 8:47 PM
Jack Sinclair, CEO of Sprout’s Farmers Market, confirms what millions already know: prices and pressures are hitting lower- and middle-income families hardest.

Trump promised affordability. Instead, everyday Americans are left to “figure out how they manage.”
November 14, 2025 at 4:00 PM
Trump promised prosperity.

Instead, CEOs are admitting what families already feel: life’s getting harder.

Constellation Brands — maker of Modelo and Corona — say most Hispanic consumers are worried about their finances and cutting back on spending.
November 13, 2025 at 9:53 PM
Even corporate execs are admitting it: Trump’s economy is splitting in two. Working families are cutting back while corporations post record profits.

Chipotle’s CEO says it outright: low- and middle-income Americans are being hit hardest.
November 13, 2025 at 8:46 PM
General Mills' executives are telling on Trump’s economy:

📉 “Consumers are still adjusting to this once-in-a-lifetime inflationary period and trying to find their footing.”

💸 “If you’re making $200K or less, you are really feeling that pinch.”
November 13, 2025 at 7:59 PM
The Trump Admin has consistently sought to evade accountability engaging in unprecedented, irresponsible, & often illegal actions.

Trump repeatedly promised to cut energy bills “in half.”

The “millionaire flight” myth is just that… a myth. And @lindsayowens.bsky.social has the data to back it up in @usatoday.com:

After New Jersey raised its top-income tax rate, 37 millionaires left the state while 3,000 more moved into the Garden State.

Sarah Matthews, a former Trump Deputy Press Secretary, says her ACA health care premiums are going to jump $600 next year.

As @lindsayowens.bsky.social tells @alivitali.bsky.social the crux of the shutdown is “whether Americans are gonna be able to afford health care next year.” Watch on @msnbc.com

NEW polling: Majority of voters believe SNAP benefits have been cut & delayed because Trump is choosing to withhold available funds.

It’s no wonder why.

Just this morning, the Trump admin appealed the court’s decision to fully fund SNAP. They’re choosing to let people go hungry.
