about 34 years ago, a poor korean family came to the US to find a life for their sons and to run away from what seemed like a curse that followed them for generations. the mother dedicated her mind & body to give the life she always wanted to her two sons.

Watching “The Notebook” for the first time in 2026 feels like i’m doing the movie dirty cause it’s filled with drama and romance tropes that have been done so many times since its release that the movie feels kinda corny and unoriginal. probably should have seen it earlier when i had the chance.

Growing up, my happy place was on this hill by my house. I would run to that hill after school and lay on my back and stare up into the sky. I loved the sky so much one day I took a jar and jumped the highest i could waving the empty jar around hoping I could capture some of the sky’s blue for later

i keep my list of media to consume to start the year on my whiteboard next to my desk. def in a romance that spans decades era after reading “Love in the Time of Cholera” and watching “Fellow Travelers” so recommendations in that vein are welcome. will add to the list as the year goes.

new years just hit different these days. for the first time in my life i can truly feel the consequences of time on my body. my eyes, hands and heart are all not what they used to be and i make sure to take more rest to accommodate. but nevertheless, i remain excited to see what’s in store for us 🎉

not my wisest choice to watch “Fellow Travelers” before the new year lol but it was an absolutely fantastic miniseries. characters were so complex and and well acted. Matt Bomer and Jonathan Bailey were peak and had me bawling at the end. highly recommend if interested in period pieces and drama.

thinking about the time i made “learn tennis” a new year’s resolution and a friend offered to teach me. first lesson they said “when you hit the ball you need to aim higher than you think” and i proceed to smack it so high it clears the fence surrounding the court like im Aaron Judge hitting a HR.

Matt Bomer’s character in “Fellow Travelers” really puts on a masterclass in being a toxic and manipulative boyfriend/partner/fuckboy. The love bombing, no emotional commitment, lying and running away cycle is the ultimate toxic combo.

Pokémon movies and Audrey Hepburn Rom-coms are probably as far apart on the movie spectrum as one could go but both have a place #LetterboxdFriday

Having brunch with the old folks which means i have to sit through their list of ways to improve my life. I’m able to just nod along and pay no mind but once in awhile they drop something so bizarre. they said this time “i wish you would drink more” like?!??! what?!? how would this improve my life 😭

remembered that matchbox 20 used to exist this morning on my run. the list is already pretty “eclectic” and makes for a pretty weird listening experience but i’m interested to see how the full list ends up at the end of my build

I just watched Bowen Yang’s last sketch at SNL from last night and got admittedly a little teary eyed 🥲 Sure its great getting representation as a gay asian man in comedy, but what i appreciate most about him is he knows ball i.e. that Mandy Moore voiced Aerith Gainsboro in Kingdom Hearts.

“Lady Bird” was probably the best film I’ve seen this year but my heart always goes to “Sabrina.” When Audrey sings “Yes! We Have No Bananas” my heart just melts, she’s the best 🥰 Also RIP Rob Reiner, “When Harry Met Sally” probably deserves a 4.

On my runs, i’ll think of a song and it’ll just bounce around my head and just kinda stick with me. sometimes it’s cause i hear it in media, others, it’s just a song i’ve enjoyed in the past making its way back into my life. sometimes it’s songs i haven’t thought about in decades but just hits right

of course there is a running shoe coming out using the subscription model. an outrageous $250 training shoe that costs $9 a month to use it’s “intelligence” functions that uses, you guessed it, “AI” 🙃
