Earthling, retired ecological surveyor, environmentalist, lefty, internationally unrecognised nature photographer, guitarist, obsessive O'Carolan arranger, early musicke aficionado, Yorkshire droll exiled to Raspberry Republic of Scotland.
You may know that ND also means neutral density, a dark photographic filter to allow slower exposure to blur action, like flowing water. I use graduated ND filters when I'm not feeling lazy, to darken the exposure of lighter areas of images, especially sky. 📷 Loch Fleet, Sutherland.

The similar Loch Fleet Ramsar SSSI golf planning application was refused by earlier centre-left SNP majority with Green influence but personnel change & politics is fickle.🤞

🙄In yesterday's 2020 'Christmas' Gone Fishing, Bob identified a nosy Grey Seal off Staithes correctly but Paul described t'Yorkshire Esk valley as in 'winter's icy grip' while, from leaf colours, being filmed in October.🍂

I vote for @snp.org & @scottishgreens.org MSPs because Scotland has PR but worry about right-wing shift. Representatives of other parties, like our @libdems.org.uk MP, @jamie4north.bsky.social, promote environmental destruction of Loch Fleet Ramsar SSSI.

The day after, in a different neighbour's garden in Dornoch, Sutherland (20.11.2025) there were 4 Bohemian Waxwing on a Chinese Rowan, Sorbus pseudohupehensis ('Pink Pagoda'?).

Above is a fake Waxwing superimposed on a real photograph.
For comparison, my (copyright) photographs are of a real Bohemian Waxwing & garden Cotoneaster taken in Scotland.

Between snow showers I saw a Long-tailed Tit in the garden (like this one), so grabbed a camera, but it had gone, & luckily instead photographed over hedge for 15 seconds in neighbour's garden, a single fleeting & silent Bohemian Waxwing. Dornoch, Sutherland (19.11.2025).

Solar fields swallowing habitats on less agriculturally productive land are bad news too. Roofs are the least damaging locations.
📷Herring Gulls attempt to nest on neighbour's solar panel every year.

Your captioned photograph is of Cedar Waxwings. The most obvious difference to Bohemian Waxwing is the yellow flanks.
My photos are of a Bohemian Waxwing in Dornoch, Scotland.

I'm not a fan of rogue state Israel or any far right criminals there or in UK, so don't quibble about journalism here, but the informal use of the term 'invite', strictly speaking a verb, as a noun instead of 'invitation', jars with this pedant.

My last conversation with Todd Warnock, co-director of Coul Links Ltd with developer Mike Keiser, on eve of November hearing ended:
"It's such an opportunity for the area. Thanks Andy!"
"Golf courses are ten a penny in Scotland but Coul Links is a special environment."
"Fuck the environment!"

SNH @naturescot.bsky.social contractor recorded Fonseca's Seed-fly on dunes south of Cluain Burn, on species-rich non-SSSI part of Coul Links in different ownership, proposed to be a golf 'remediation' area, & other species here include Small Blue & Northern Brown Argus butterflies!

Captive Mammillaria hahniana in a plant pot is a wild native of Mexico, usually with magenta flowers. The white-flowered form albiflora has pale yellow flowers with coffee-colored stripes & is more common in cultivation. This is 16 cm tall & was 50p from charity shop.
