one of my cats is a maine coon I rescued from a breeder who was going to "get rid" of her because she was a color (orange) no one would buy. I've been doing cat rescue for 15 years, had my sanctuary for 10. breeding & all of the superficial reasons for wanting a purebred cat infuriates me.

I really hope you can find out the cause of it and it's a simple fix like food. the bloodwork is always so stressful as it is, hoping for good news while awaiting the results, weird stuff screwing it up makes it even worse. I'll be hoping for the best for your girl!

as i stop giving treats, it goes back down. she retested my guy after a month of no treats and his levels were back to normal.

check if anything has potassium iodide in it. that's what's in the temptations that causes it. yep, his thyroid has been stable for years (he's on a daily 2.5mg felimazole pill.) it's only when he gets the temptations that it goes up. what led my vet to figure it out was I toom 3 senior cats for +

do you give your cat temptations treats? i give my cats temptations occasionally & if I do it right before my hyperthyroid cat's bloodwork, it always causes a spike in his thyroid values. it took my vet & I forever to figure it out.
