We’ve been let into the main room. I thought we would be safe here, but there is a skull on a box at the center of the room. I’ve been told his name was Yorick. May have been antifa or merely a jester who made fun of the Mad King. There’s no escaping “war-torn” Portland.

Follow up question about iOS App Clips. Do you have any installed on your phone right now? They are listed at the bottom of your App Library and have dotted lines around the icon.

Sorry to be a broken record, but I’m 40 minutes into the podcast and decided to try to find Oath to check it out. My initial search was useless so I looked for a link in the podcast description and there aren’t any (again).

I’m pretty sure we tested it at the time. I’ve been trying to find where I advocated for it to change to the current behavior, but I've been unable to find it. I did find a reference in our Slack to the old language on Chrome's FAQs from 2020.
Scratch the part about loading=lazy. I swear I saw something about them changing the behavior as described in [1] above, but I can’t find it now. Instead, I see in Chrome’s FAQs: "How does the loading attribute work with images that are in the viewport but not immediately visible (for example: behind a carousel, or hidden by CSS for certain screen sizes)? Only images that are below the device viewport by the calculated distance load lazily. All images above the viewport, regardless of whether they’re immediately visible, load normally" With this additional information, I’d remove loading=lazy and move the lazy loading helper from a possible thing to do to a near certainty to do.[2] [2] The picture hack would remove the need for the library, but it feels wrong to me.

OMG I love the typography on @[email protected]’s slides. And there are so many great font performance tips in her #perfnow talk.
Mandy Michael presents her performance.now() talk under a gorgeous slide about self-hosted font files. The slide is pink with percentages highlighted in red with a striking typeface with unique shapes for the Rs and 3s.

My first attempt to use Shopify’s app on iOS 17 to create a 3D model didn’t exactly go as expected. 😀
