Riding is mostly safer than driving. Usually (not always!) when you fall from a horse, you don’t get seriously injured. Driving accidents are less common but far more likely to be catastrophic. Most horses were driven at that time so I’d think injury/death rates were likely quite extreme.

Not a done deal yet. But I’ve been discussing the Gripen with my retired pilot mother. She likes the cold weather capabilities and the much lower costs of maintenance and operation compared to the F35. Gripen is faster, cheaper, easier to maintain, lands on shorter and less manicured runways, etc.

The Gripen is designed to operate out of very small bases in arctic conditions. Which theoretically would allow some economic development in the north. So it wouldn’t just be jobs in manufacturing in the south of Canada. Having smaller bases in the north would also help with sovereignty.

I actually do like having four very distinct seasons. Makes for a lot more interesting photos at any rate. Though England is quite lovely too.

Oh my goodness. That would be a bit difficult! I have three cats but none of them are really possessive. They all like to be close to me and they don’t love each other too much. But they organize it so they each have a spot.

Well he is definitely attached to me. But honestly, he’s like a Walmart greeter. Greets visitors at the door. Loves absolutely everyone.
