Yesterday at the #NYCC Marvel X-Men panel, a science graduate student asked about where they get their accurate scientific information for writing the comics.

@jedmackay.bsky.social immediately said, I ask Marvel’s residence science expert… @ryannorth.ca

I have to agree!

Had the best time doing a #NYCC panel with @cosplayforscience.bsky.social on Pokémon Ecology Academy: Ancient Life! Got to talk about Yanmega, insect respiration, and how insects used to be much bigger in the Carboniferous!

Another fun panel with @cosplayforscience.bsky.social at #FanX! Got to talk about how heroes and villains can communicate with animals and the various ways insects use to communicate!

And had such a fun time cosplaying as Ant-Man!

Thanks @lisalundgren.bsky.social for organizing!

I will be cosplaying as classic Ant-Man, pictures later 😊🤓

Enjoyed this little factoid about non-reflective moth eyes and improved solar panel technology from Naturally Curious this morning with the family. I never knew about this!

Did you know about this cool overlap between our worlds @billmckibben.bsky.social?

TONIGHT at 9:30, I see if I can livestream the joys of blacklighting for @sciantsmedia.com in celebration of #NationalMothWeek. Can I do it from rural Vermont and my WiFi extender moved to the back window??? Only time will tell!
