Our Apprenticeship Guarantee will create 9,000 new apprenticeship places in priority sectors, backed by £36 million a year, with a clearing system so no talent is lost. And we’ll put colleges at the heart of Scotland’s economic future.

At West Lothian College, staff work incredibly hard to give young people the skills and confidence they need. But a damning Audit Scotland report shows the SNP has cut courses, squeezed funding and denied opportunities, hitting working-class young people hardest.

Scottish Labour has a better plan.

With the UK Labour Government's Autumn Budget due tomorrow, I’m looking forward to sharing the detail and I'm confident it will back people and businesses across Livingston, Scotland and the UK.

My visit to Ian Macleod Distillers in Broxburn was a chance to hear directly from a major family-owned business about their industry, their workforce and their ambitions for the future.

For over 35 years, Nisha has created local jobs, invested in cutting-edge technology, and shown real leadership across Scotland’s food and drink sector. They truly represent the best of our community. 💛

That’s what fairness looks like, protecting public money so it goes to those who genuinely need it.

This is the change the Livingston constituency voted for.

And with a voluntary repayment window open until December 2025, individuals and businesses have a final chance to repay money they weren’t entitled to before tougher sanctions kick in.

We’re already seeing prosecutions and repayments ordered in the tens of thousands.

That means criminal investigations, compensation orders, director disqualifications, and fines of up to 100% of any fraudulent loan.

From Bounce Back Loans to Eat Out to Help Out, every misuse of public funds will now be investigated.

Only two people can be First Minister next May: John Swinney or Anas Sarwar . The past or the future. Failure or renewal. Drift or a new direction.

The SNP has left Scotland with higher taxes and poorer results. With Anas Sarwar and Scottish Labour, we can change that, building an economy that delivers growth, good jobs, and real opportunities for people across West Lothian and beyond.

Scottish Labour’s new economic plan sets out how we take this further here in Scotland, reforming our enterprise agencies, fixing skills, backing Scottish jobs and manufacturing, completing long-overdue infrastructure like the A9, and pushing power out to local communities.

At Scottish Labour’s Policy Conference in Edinburgh, I spoke about the work we’re already doing in government to drive growth: major new trade deals, a ten-year Industrial Strategy, and a 30% cut to industrial electricity prices to back the manufacturers who power Scotland’s economy.

This is a real victory for local residents and businesses and proof that speaking up gets results. I’ll keep pushing for fair parking and fees across the Livingston constituency, including tackling the ongoing issues at Almondvale West Retail Park that many of you continue to raise with me.

After residents raised serious concerns about unfair parking charges, I took these issues directly to Wheatley Homes and UKPC. I’m pleased to say we’ve secured over £4,500 in cancelled fees for local residents and businesses - and a long-term fix to stop these charges happening again.

In less than six months, Scotland has a choice: a third decade of John Swinney and the SNP, or a new direction with Scottish Labour, a government that fixes the basics and believes in Scotland’s potential.

It's time for a new direction with Anas Sarwar and Scottish Labour.🌹

For two decades, SNP failure has held our country back. Our NHS is in crisis, the economy has flatlined, and too many communities no longer feel safe. The excuses and division can’t go on.
