quite a change around Firrhill since I moved away in 1975. City hospital gone, pre-fabs gone, high flats gone. I remember the Broadway as their used to be a bookie's runner on the corner that my Dad used 😄

The scheme was finished 1955. My folks were first family in that flat. (ground floor where lady (my aunt) is standing in the garden.) Think that is me playing on the pavement

Having a German mother we clebrated the first day of Advent on the 1st of the 4 Sundays before Chritsmas. A candle lit on qst, 2 on 2nd Sunday etc. Advent calendars were sent to us from Germany from my Oma as not available in Scotland in 50s when we were kids
