It occurs to me that Maga is the ultimate success of Osama Bin Laden. He successfully stripped the vaneer off of the USA with the sept11 attack and with it created the preconditions for Trumpism. Sure Putin's involved but OBL scared the US into this state.

Reading a lot of Redhat comments about how the USA would win a war with anyone it chooses to fight. This is true, but like the quote goes irrelevant. Nobody ever wins against a bigger foe by fighting fair & the antivaxxers are a gaping hole waiting to be exploited.

My suspicion is that Mexico turned around and said "well if you crash our economy we won't be able to patrol the border or fight the Cartels. I mean it's not like they target politicians and their property. Your call."

And regardless, because businesses have already taken change actions and nobody trusts Trump to stick to a deal, prices will go up anyway.

I am now sufficiently old enough to remember when this would have been an unbelievable parody. Fully expecting a cannibalism/wicker man scandal in the next 6 months. Will be happy to be proved wrong.
