My dad was one of the original Glassholes and wore them to work until HR told him "one of your coworkers is uncomfortable with you wearing a camera into the bathroom." I think he brought spare glasses to wear into the bathroom for a bit but eventually gave up on Glass.

Absolutely my least favorite part of the deck

Huh, at least they didn't use AI slop placeholders this time I guess?

My gut instinct was ICE, and the catered meal was because they wouldn't be leaving that courtroom/the custody of the state any time soon; but that's from spending a lot of time around Lawsky where the reputation is that judges being unusually nice means you're legally fucked.

If it's the former, they potentially do a handful of lazy reskins as filler, particularly putting Chief Gordon Cole on a not-fitting draft chaff uncommon nobody plays with "fix their hearts or die" flavor text, sold during Pride Month but only in a handful of countries they feel Safe about.

You're not thinking like WotC. It's either five different secret lairs, same price, one token of each type and a different art in each lair; or it's one secret lair, same price, one of each type with random arts (and varying rarity so you have to buy like 20+ to actually get each art).

Subway's pretty warm, if you don't have to walk very far above ground you might skip the coat. Back when I commuted into the city I would show up to the office in shorts and maybe a light jacket in 40 degree weather because it was one block from the subway to the office.

Yeah, I know that the battery wear isn't as bad as the perception on EVs in general; but the general public belief about how bad it is makes people reluctant to buy used EVs. I have a 2014 hybrid Crosstrek that I'm driving until it breaks badly, at which point it'll be some non-Tesla EV.

Hamburger Helper is more of a category (dried carbs + seasoning packet that you combine with ground beef to form a meal) than a singular Dish, IE they launched with Stroganoff, Chili, and Hash inspired variations. Started in the 70s during a meat shortage so people could afford to eat protein.

That sounds like a rad idea.

Ah yes, those wide theatrical releases of Coyote vs. Acme, Batgirl, and Scoob! Holiday Haunt that Warner Bros was totally doing under previous ownership. At least Netflix gives things two seasons before cancelling them?

I know someone who was gifted the Tesla by a relative, and nobody wants to buy used Teslas between battery wear and the fascism so they literally could not afford a (functional/safe-to-drive) replacement car with the money they'd get if they sold it.

My proudest moment back when I used Facebook was getting my ancap Libertarian dad to admit that if you actually think about Libertarian philosophy, taxation is not only not theft but mandated by their principles. Shortly afterwards he deleted the post those comments were on.

The best one is Lance Armstrong going "well I'm just concerned about fairness in women's sports" when we all know if he actually thought he could get away with cheating by doing it he would've tried to fake a transition.

My understanding is that this is the well-marketed olive oil for people who want to seem like chefs but don't actually understand what they're doing or why you choose certain oils. Like, I didn't know it existed until Sam Altman pissed people off by cooking with the finishing oil they sell.

Why would you use an LLM to do any calculation when Wolfram Alpha exists and handles nearly anything you can throw at it?

For the first week, my rescue pup ran away scared from the TV even with the sound muted; eventually I found a video that was calm and static enough for him to realize the TV wouldn't kill him, and then we were able to turn on the sound too.

I'm just playing off misunderstanding injecting the turkey with marinade vs injecting the turkey into yourself.

Huh, I've never heard of ingesting turkey intravenously into your body.
