Sure, Tableau Next looks great, but can we get rounded corners in Tableau Classic?

I'm making avatar stickers again for #Data25!

If you'd like one, please send me a message here or on LinkedIn before April 10. I won't be watching my Twitter notifications.

A short break from your regularly scheduled data content - check out these hooded mergansers! I'm about one year into birding and just starting to recognize some non-mallard ducks.

I really enjoyed listening to this data story, and couldn't resist exploring Lauren Bauer's (@laurenhlb.bsky.social) dataset myself!

Come see my talk 'Data Models 101 - Joins, Relationships, and Blends' at #TC25! This talk will walk through setting up each data model, compare the behavior of the models, and talk through the factors to consider when choosing the right data model for your use case.

See you in San Diego!

Kevin Wee's entry Stage to Screen is one of my favorites from this year. I feel like both of these charts are simple yet completely new, and I'm totally using this top left legend placement in a future project.

I think this NY Powerball entry by Audrey Goodwin is delightful. I love the interactivity, and how plainly it spells out the odds of winning.

My favorite detail is how borders and layout settings are used to format the ticket selector.

I've seen multiple entries use the Map Layers hack in new and exciting ways. (Method: www.phdata.io/blog/beyond-...)

Annabelle Rincon's entry is a great example of this - her first dashboard uses a single worksheet with over 20 map layers!

My favorite build was for Birding. I attempted to recreated the experience of birding in a chart. As you interact with the dots, you'll see a lot of recurring characters. The less frequent observations stand out against the common birds in my area.

The dashboard creates a classic ‘glow’ effect using four layers. A base image with the room and furniture, a glow worksheet with the density mark type, a second image with the items, and a targeting worksheet with invisible marks to trigger interactions.

#30DayChartChallenge | #Day14 | Heatmap

Experimenting with mouseX and mouseY to make a silly little heatmap!

#30DayChallenge | #Day13 | Family

This one is a bit abstract! The first circle represents you, then click to include your parents. Each click brings the view back a generation.

✨Outer pie
✨Inner Pie
✨Finally breaking out of my setup() comfort zone!
