I’m not sure. Given my limited understanding of bsky and the protocol I default assume every action is public

Soledareety. The crank in me has always wanted to rant about autocorrect as a form of censorship

Good point. Now I’m not sure I know what it tastes like on its own. I always add it to other things

It’s probably fine since the chickens were salted. Maybe it’s safe to taste a little bit and see if it’s salty? You could try microwaving the sample if it’s too ick

I try not to think about bitcoin too much. I have a friend that reminds me we’d both be retired by now. I was far too certain regulation was going to end it

I think more people would like it if the marketing wasn’t atrocious and understood there’s a corollary to the hype cycle, the cringe cycle. Online dating, pdas, AirPods, hell even computers all cringe at various points in their inevitable adoption

That makes total sense. It works well for integrating other services

Do you think it’s fads or people still don’t like the protocol? I’ve finally come around to it. So definitely curious if seems destined for vaporware like a lot of us thought

Agreed. Manhattan isn’t big enough

For the last week or so I’ve been convinced people were overestimating how much of a bubble we’re in

All about this. It’s such a pain to have discontinuities when working on things. Or rubber ducking an idea and it fubars the context window.

For me it came down to driver issues, large docker images, and performance. I wasn’t seeing a big enough difference in token/sec compared to the Studio. Tinygrad offers an AMD version so they’re definitely usable.

I wouldn’t want to be at the mercy of rocm support and would avoid AMD. Maybe others have better experiences. Last I looked 3090s or p40s were cost effective. Mac studios and minis get you lots of vram for “cheap”. You can also build a R730 with a ton of ram and gpu. I use a Mac Studio.
