Accountability is when your third pair plays like they belong in the federal league and they remain in the lineup the next game!! Love Bérubé hockey baby!!! Love the leafs!!
November 10, 2025 at 12:56 AM
Really great bit that Bérubé was supposed to implement a stifling defensive system but instead the leafs are porous defensively and can only create off the rush

Just deal Robertson for one of the other change of scenery forwards (chinakov, Turcotte, berggren etc) and be done with it, feel bad for the guy
32 Thoughts (Oct 20): Some notes Elliotte mentions:

• SJ, DET & EDM have excess D to move.
• DET has Gustafsson & Justin Holl in the AHL. Also Jonatan Berggren could be available. Says Yzerman has players to move.
• TOR "trying to solve" the Nick Robertson situation.

So much going on here

- The fact that you can tell he had more black tape on the blade then said fuck it and went with just the toe taped

- How if you look closely he covers JUST the forehand with white tape to keep the blade looking clean

Impressive stuff all around
What we think of Savy's tape job👍👎

It’s 2 games but the leafs look goddawful, somehow they can’t score, forecheck, hit OR defend!

Essentially 10 years making moves to get tougher and better defensively and all it’s done is neuter the offence
October 14, 2025 at 12:03 AM
I think the leafs should keep nick robertson! He scores every now and again! He is willing to be pesky and forecheck!! They’re willing to try Cowan on the 4th line so surely he can fit there too!!

Great problem solving guys!! you’d think they would install a more robust camera by now
Fuckers will seriously wage a vigilante war against an inanimate object rather than just drive safely, I mean come on.
Toronto's Parkside speed camera cut down for 7th time in less than a year

The Ontario government checking to see if they have enough space to mandate in-person work after announcing the mandate would be so funny if it wasn’t so pathetic

I feel like most players don’t have a big enough cap hit where retention can meaningfully be used to get a team to the floor. Seems like an unnecessary concern imo
A CBA related trade note from Jeff Marek on The Sheet: He thinks the reason double retention was removed from CBA was to discourage teams from using it to get to the salary floor. Also some teams are looking to raise franchise values so they don’t want others using “empty calorie cap space”. #NHL

Montreal is a real city, maybe one day Toronto will act like one
NEW: 1km of Montreal’s Ste-Catherine Street will become permanently “pedestrian only” (less than perfect term since it will be a people-place for a LOT more than walking). 225+ new trees, vegetation-covered pits for rain drainage, more seating, illuminated canopy, financial help for businesses, etc.
Stretch of Ste-Catherine Street East to become pedestrian-only year-round | CBC News
The City of Montreal announced Friday their "ambitious" plans to transform a portion of Ste-Catherine Street East into a pedestrian road year-round, with redevelopment work starting in fall 2026.

I am not the closest follower of politics but I’d really appreciate if these journalists at Doug ford’s press conference would ask him about HIS jurisdiction. Do not care about his opinions on tariffs tbh

I read the court decision on the bike lanes. It's honestly astonishing how the provincial government was willing to tear up a ton of infrastructure and piss away more money for no reason

and they want to keep wasting time and money by appealing the decision!!

I also think it's worth emphasising that, as with all of these lists, the numbers are just random guesses. There is no empirical method, it's just "How likely do you think it is that computers will be able to do this task in the future?" and then the poll respondents pick a number at random.
Just a reminder this list is drawn from a piece written by four researchers for MICROSOFT (data scientists, CS people, economists) who have never stepped foot in an archive/never taken an oral history/studied material culture, by their CVs.
Unlike them, I do my research, and don't talk out my ass.

Really hope he somehow works it out with the leafs
There is one arbitration case remaining, set for Sunday

Nick Robertson (TOR)

Team: $1.2M

Player: $2.25M

I am absolutely thrilled about the bike lane case, I did not think it would work out but this is such great news.

I understand why some people are upset about the decision (they're uneducated) but to see the amount of people spread misinformation about the case is driving me nuts

I can see why some liked him but there were some real head-scratcher moments. The most annoying one was the night Marchand injured Liljegren and he said he would've done something about it but he never got the chance to go out there to settle it, despite playing multiple shifts against him afterward
we should talk more about what an absolute fucking dweed Reaves was during his leafs tenure. So many shitty little comments and interview answers. If Marner said half the shit Reaves did, people's Mitch's personality grievances would be justified
July 11, 2025 at 6:13 PM
Would be pretty cool if the Leafs ended up moving Domi this offseason and replaced him with Maccelli
July 7, 2025 at 3:45 PM
Carolina is drafting TOO MANY Russians cause of ANALYTICS just sounds like a shitty hockeyism ad lib lol
June 28, 2025 at 6:23 PM
If the leafs don’t trade anyone on D I hope they leave that 3rd pairing spot open for a reclamation project or young guy like rifai/villeneuve

Should be easy to shelter someone with one of the vets

That’s why he’s on the Portuguese Canadian walk of fame let’s goooo
John Tavares has signed a 4-year, 4.38M AAV contract extension with the Toronto Maple Leafs!
June 27, 2025 at 5:02 PM
“Bennett makes it look like he just ran into him”

It SHOULD STILL BE A PENALTY IN THAT CASE
June 15, 2025 at 12:41 AM
This is very disingenuous framing considering that all year Marner's position was that he was going to test the market and that the Leafs wanted to sign him lol.

Hard to say you're making a tough decision when the other party has already made the decision for you
June 13, 2025 at 8:11 PM
This has to be a bit at this point lol
Darnell Nurse scores to make it 3-2 while Jeff Skinner held Dmitry Kulikov's stick for what had to be 10 seconds. We have ourselves a game
June 13, 2025 at 1:50 AM
Describing the penalties like this is Orwellian lol
Nurse takes an undisciplined penalty on Lundell, then Walman punches Lundell in the face. Panthers back on the power play near the end of a third straight dominant second period against Edmonton in the series
