Finally, the single-most prescient writer: Octavia E Butler’s “Parable of the Sower” and “Parable of the Talents”. Published in the 90s about our present time. The only dystopian fiction I’ve seen that presents a meaningful path through the dystopia.

Not a book, but: the TV series most relevant to the current state of the world is the late 90s b-list sci-fi series “Babylon 5”. It takes some getting into (the first season was a bit rough), but the series as a whole is completely worth it. Politics, media, conspiracies, revolutionary underground…
