Call it poetic. Call it kismet. My final piece for Uproxx is the same as my first: an interview with Perfume Genius.

Glory is out tomorrow, and I spoke with Mike Hadreas about the story behind every Perfume Genius album cover:

Good morning, I wrote about aya’s hexed! for @pastemagazine.bsky.social’s No Album Left Behind series. It’s the best bad time you’ll ever have
No Album Left Behind: aya's 'hexed!' is a grotesque, anti-club concoction

I’m not deleting that post because it got zero likes. I’m deleting it because I value the beauty that lies in the ephemeral.

Good morning. For @stereogum.com, I wrote another long piece about Vinyl Me, Please, this time investigating the company's millions of dollars in unpaid debts, interviewing vendors who got screwed, and examining VMP's troubled relaunch under new ownership.

"its lyrical despondency (what’s that say about these times, huh!) and for its stripped-down sonics (similar to how stylish, hand-drawn animation feels less dated than “live-action” CGI in the ensuing years; this is a Disney subtweet)"

Bear in mind, someone was paid to write like this

I enjoy Springsteen's music, though I'm not a ginormous fan. Even so, I really enjoyed this movie--both as a biopic about Springsteen as well as a film about what the creative process can and cannot do. I enjoyed reading this take on it.
