Politics is about momentum and zeitgeist too.

Improved living standards for tests out will have a major influence but ‘events’ also have an impact.

The last government lost Boris Johnson irrespective to long term outcomes such as the popular ‘levelling up.’

Those fragmented parties won’t stick together, won’t be led by Labour. The far right will get 10-20% permanently.

Geert Wilders Freedom Party got 37%.

You mean FPTP is a shield against populism.

No. It’s not ridiculous at all. It’s a barometer of public feeling and has already happened where FPTP isn’t the system. Scotland, EU and soon in Wales.

The real question you’re asking is can FPTP be breached?
