So, Mamdani has, at face value, some fairly moderate proposals, and people are using that to justify Trump saying things like he'll send in the military to oust Mamdani because NYC shouldn't get to elect the mayor they want if Trump doesn't like his policies

Their priorities are so backwards, they freak out about welfare programs and completely overlook that the reason most people hated being in the 2nd world was because of all the heinous political persecution

I remember arguing with my mother once about Cuba because she couldn't get over all the "free stuff" they give people like healthcare and literacy programs, and I was just like "is your issue with 'communism' that they imprison dissidents or is that people don't get rich off of medicine?"

Like, I'm sure saying we should take men's right to vote away, even as a joke, will offend the cry-babies, but that's the problem
If suggesting that we repeal the 19th Amendment doesn't offend you, but suggesting taking men's rights to vote away does, then that's the issue

Like, that's kind of my issue, is that I'm fairly convinced these people deliberately hide behind the fact that a lot of reasonable people will just think they're stupid and not actively malicious, which mitigates how threatening they appear
