My first read in 2026 was Reading Lessons by Carol Atherton. Enjoyable and interesting.

I read 74 books in 2025: pretty good for me. Here are some highlights:

Guns of the Dawn by Adrian Tchaikovsky, Emily Marshwic: a favourite character from 2025.

The Saint of Steel-books by T Kingfisher, a delightful series!

Written on the Dark by Guy Gavriel Kay, one of my favourite authors.

Giving students thoughtful, personalized feedback and instruction is not a problem that originates from the difficulty for an instructor to generate feedback, it is a problem that originates from institutions pivoting to student:instructor ratios where that dynamic is not logistically feasible.

Lektionerna började i slutet av vecka 34. Då hade jag ca 40 blyertspennor. Sedan har elever "lånat pennor".

Nu har jag 9. Ja, och en handfull som kommit tillbaka brutna i småbitar. Dags att sluta låna ut pennor...

Från en lärare som vill vara anonym: Jag talade om för ledningen att 40 elever i en grupp i spanska 4 är för många INNAN eleverna kom tillbaka.

Jag har fortfarande 40 elever!?! Och är placerad i en sal som med hjälp av skohorn och smörjolja rymmer 34 bänkar.
