Phoenix: Recommendation System This repository contains JAX example code for the Phoenix recommendation system, which powers content ranking and retrieval. Phoenix uses transformer-based architectures for both retrieval (finding relevant candidates from millions of items) and ranking (ordering a smaller set of candidates by predicted engagement). Note: The sample transformer implementation in this repository is ported from the Grok-1 open source release by xAI. The core transformer architecture comes from Grok-1, adapted here for recommendation system use cases with custom input embeddings and attention masking for candidate isolation. This code is representative of the model used internally with the exception of specific scaling optimizations.

When investing in Canadian founders, my first question is always: “do you have a nexus card”. If no, I pass. I like to invest in founders that: - understand the value of their time (and don’t spend it in security lines) - are ruthlessly efficient - can differentiate between cycle time and touch time (getting a card) - can navigate beauracracy (for eventual enterprise sales motion) - see value where others may miss it ($10/year is the best ROi in Canada) As a wise man once said: “just get a nexus card”.
