Distribution! Different types of "themes" for your OS are usually called the distro you are using. Mint is one I like for ease of learning I think it is easy to transition to it from windows as they have similar functionality.

Linux has been getting a lot of good distros as more people are dropping windows. You can do a dual boot windows and linux to get started while you learn and see which distro you like best.
