I'm honestly so glad other people are still in Emmrich Hell*, it makes me feel slightly less insane.
*Like regular Hell, but cleaner, slightly cooler and everything smells of lilies, tea and formaldehyde.

...and then Rook, with the power of a thousand dads before him, just blurts out "He can't have it, it'll go right through him!" and then he and Fred are on the floor howling with laughter for like five full minutes and Emmrich's like "I will destroy both of you."

...It works quite well until some old lady hears him rasping away to them about, idk, a beetle probably, and insists that he absolutely must have some of her special tea for his sore throat. And Emmrich's trying desperately to say thanks but no thanks politely while also not arousing suspicion...

...so they wrap Manfred up in like five coats and six scarves and a woolly hat and tell everyone he's Emmrich's definitely human child but he has a horrible disease that means he's allergic to everything, and he's on a special diet which is why no-one ever sees him eat...
