Similarly, I can imagine a scenario in which the Taliban hand out free ice-creams on a sun-kissed beach. But I expect immigration officers to base their judgments on the facts, not their imaginations.

Councillors voted against a licence to convert the former mail order depot into an accommodation facility for 200 refugees, after two previous votes were tied. One CDA councillor who could have decided the vote in favour went off sick and indicated he had come under pressure in his personal life.

Buy whatever car you like – just as I wouldn't ever tell people to stop heating their homes for geopolitical reasons.
These problems need to be dealt with by governments and manufacturers, not private citizens.

The experiences of US soldiers who fought and died in Europe were one of the catalysts of the civil rights movement. It's not “criticising America“ to explain how the equal rights reforms of the 1960s came about. Unless, of course, you think being anti-racist is the same as being anti-American.

It could have been worse, but it's not a good result, especially if you argue that the general drift was to the right.
The bigger question is: what's the future for the VVD if moderate voters keep leaving? It doesn't look great.
