I know I believe in nothing, but it is my nothing.
I don’t think it’s unique to Gabi, eg Rice often dropped into defence, Merino was covering Eze a lot & Saka covers for Timber. But Mosquera really wasn’t doing it with MLS. Also, Madueke really didn’t help out in the way that Martinelli always does.

Sounds like little baby Joshua doesn’t like losing to the better team.

And didn’t 2 of our goals come from
open play moves?

I’m on the fence about that, I think it’s a reflection of generations of the fanbase who grew up between the late 40s and 80s. Historically our 1st away kits were white & blue. But I don’t like us going more than a year without a yellow kit - the 3rd next season will be yellow.

Yeah my love of the 80s kits was borne out of my 1st days of watching the team. That ‘71 shirt is obviously one the club sells but I always find the sodding things shrink badly!

Think the days of such simplistic designs are probably lost behind the advertising, logos etc, but the colour is bang on.

Think it’s also worth pointing out Mosquera as the left cb, not his best position. He rarely got close to MLS, so he was in turn left a bit exposed to be run at. Also, he isn’t naturally a defender & maybe now we can think about his evolution back into the midfield.

Went to bed, had to get up again.

And this is why we signed Madueke.

About 1000 free-kicks won in his own half though, so…

No, my favourite was the 86-88 away. Remake that and i’ll be first in line for it.

Next season’s 3rd - pale yellow.

Memories of Zinchenko there.

I think that’s possibly being overplayed - elite players tend to be used to playing over the summer now - but let’s hope so! Certainly think the more injury prone players will suffer, but as we know ourselves, injuries can be freaky.

You’ve been kidnapped. The characters from the last TV show you watched are trying to rescue you. Who’s coming to save you?

Erm, I may be in trouble…

They’re handy and in Caicedo they have a world class player. But they can be suspect at the back & the likes of James & Neto tend not to stay fit for long.
November 26, 2025 at 5:01 PM
There aren’t any u21 games til January though, and with first teamers returning from injuries a place on the bench is unlikely, minutes less so. All game time is good for his development but he’ll stagnate if he waits for first team minutes.
November 26, 2025 at 4:59 PM
Technically he’s above the level, but you still learn a lot & develop physically & tactically. To some extent, you can’t play enough at that age, it all helps shape him & he isn’t getting the game time he needs with the seniors. And evolving his game with a little of the pressure off will help.
November 26, 2025 at 4:52 PM
Well he’s certainly playing consistently well at the moment. But the fact that we have so many options - in every position really - fills me with optimism. We just need to keep them all sharp because they will all be required, esp if we go far in the cups.
