Picked up this freebie at a conference stall this week. The description on the packaging is indescribable! There was also no paper or link accompanying the product either, thereby leaving the branding unclear!

Watching the winning play at the Alfred Fagon Award, "The Brenda Line" by Harry Mould. It's rable-rousing, imaginative, and relatable. The writing is throughly a gem. Congrats to the writer, Harry Mould.

Thank you to everyone who came to the UKSG Forum in Brighton. There was such buzz from the networking between the great sessions. Thanks to programme chairs Tim Leonard and Magaly Taylor & also to our conference chair @charlierapple.bsky.social and opening keynote speaker @godwyns.bsky.social

Feels like coming home being here among theatre and art community at the quite exclusive Alfred Fagon Award event, at the Dorfman Theatre, National Theatre, London. Fate seems to be pulling me back to creative arts which I've been thinking of a lot lately.

The crowd here at @uksg.bsky.social Forum is lively and engaging. And it had been impressive seeing their enthusiasm towards #participation in their projects. We are hopefully making progress on #community #engagement in scholarly communication. #UKSGForum2025

From the world of Scholarly Communication yesterday to Law today, at the Northeastern University of London for my former mentor Professor Ursual Smartt's book lunch: 'Media and Entertainment Law, 6th Edition'. It was an honour to learn from her as a young Magistrate. #Jusrice

It's been a productive day here at #UKSGForum2025. The talks were inspiring, including some images of floppy disks shortbread in a baking contest to improve open-data community.
Kudos to the programme committee, and of course the amazing @charlierapple.bsky.social keeping us all moving. 👏🏾

Halfway through, and I've seen great projects by libraries and institutions here at #UKSGForum2025, the spectrum of community engagement being deployed is staggering but shoiwing positive move nonetheless.

You're right! 👌🏾Sadly, time was limited, a lot was left out. #Co-creation as I mentione early on, and also in the @elife.bsky.social Ambassador example I shared re peer review training, is a key cornerstone of #CommunityEngagement in building trust & addressing power dynamics.

Data can tell one story, but communities tell another. There is hidden knowledge between data points.

Speaker has not said it explicitly but from a Sociological point of view I guess we're saying Qual (and co-creating research) is super important 😉

Starting off the schedule by talking about "Discovering the hidden insight between data points".

Starting off by stating that AI and technological changes aren't going to replace people - we still need humans for stories, context, unheard voices.

Was exciting reading the article about the project, wishing I could take part in it. It'd continue to be a relevant educational tool for #OA for the vast majority of academia's key audience - students. Could also be applied for business models, etc. #ScholComm.

The session, "Zandra Rhodes' colourful heritage: Inspiring future generations of young designers & creative practitioners", demonstrates correlation & transferable knowledge to #ScholComm, librarians & researchers. Involving communities at every stage is the icing on the cake for me. #UKSGForum2025

#UKSGForum2025 How community engagement can make an impact and the power of "the bigger picture" not just what the data says. The library as a "community centre of knowledge" - what a mesmerising keynote from @godwyns.bsky.social to start this day!

#UKSGForum2025 @godwyns.bsky.social starting us off talking about the "hidden points" between data - what is left unsaid, and the power of community. As an ex secondary school teacher, this brings me back to so many of the students who achieved so well personally, but by data made little progress 👏🏼👏🏼

Really? "act of calculated violence"? after "INTENTIONALLY" driving into a crowd & injuring 130+ people?

Can someone explain why this isn't called #terrorism this time? Because this nice wording deviates from the way other perpetrators of such crimes are labelled!
