that's fair, tho I think a lot of that is just a function of borders. I suspect artists would love to include Vancouver in a PNW tour or screening, but the bureaucracy of crossing the border makes that more difficult

I mean, that's kinda weird but ok. we share common political and cultural currents that flow throughout the region. our place in Canada is pretty similar to their place in the US

Cascadia is a term few people outside of Cascadia know. I agree that it's very Americanized and that's not great, but "American" is also very Americanized. I honestly never realized, after a decade and a half living in BC, that people opposed the term

what term would you use to refer to the region that includes Oregon, Washington and the South Coast? it's not an ideal term, but I've always seen PNW as capturing that wider region

south coast and lower mainland aren't the same things tho? lower mainland is Metro Vancouver and Fraser Valley, south coast includes sunshine coast and the island
