So we now seem to live in a world where when a plane goes down a cheer squad emerges hoping it’s a female or minority group pilot as if somehow that means incompetency because they were not a white man

DEI isn’t ‘hire an incompetent person ahead of anexpert’. DEI programs provide support to under represented groups, who havnt had the same opportunities as us more privileged, to become experts. Then with a choice between experts you may choose an option to get diversity of thinking/experience.

I have to admit that a part of me is starting to enjoy the anticipation of the stupid things that will be attempted in the next few years …. There is a bit of entertainment value

I was asked yesterday if I had wrote the book today, 6 years later, what would be different. The answer is not a lot, there would be a bit of ‘insert new tech here’ but fundamentally the challenges remain the same, as do the answers….
