Can dogs smell electronics, I had no idea

Still holding some Honda stock but I can't see how they're going to compete with the Chinese EVs that are faster, cheaper, more comfortable and so tasty

WTF they're closing basically the entire central Tokyo expressway system to accommodate the mad king

Wife made scarves for the goats because the weather got suddenly cold and their winter coats haven't grown out yet but they didn't stay around their necks because they are goats

Trawling google maps for Japanese hotels in cool concrete buildings and I found this which looked incredible but it turned out they just got the picture sideways

Mother-in-law spent her retirement painting absolutely massive oil paintings and died leaving an entire room full of them but Japanese houses have basically no available wall display space (everything is a window, door or closet) so we had our builder turn one into a closet door

Love this thing the LLM does where if it's not sure what the API is supposed to be for a function it's trying to call it just writes a try/catch block for every possible version until one of the the bastards runs

Now Kōmeitō has left the government can we standardize the tax rate at 10% instead of having all their "look how much we are protecting regular hard-working food eaters" complexification

This has been happening in Japan, they way over-built golf courses back in the bubble in the 80s. Some huge beautiful megasolar farms on them now

Love going to these grand old hotels out of season when they're cheap as chips and almost deserted

When I searched for brutalism in Niigata not much turned up but there was this incredible building somebody made to put their buddhas in.

The inside is just breathtaking but I can't show you because they strictly forbid photos, or hand sketches. I'm not sure I'm even allowed to tell you about it

Flash have had the genius idea of putting their charging stations at second hand shops which is an incredible synergy for their target market of people too mean to pay a monthly charger subscription to the company with nearly all the chargers

Great to see although this is still a problem: Because of the flaws in DID:PLC, it's important that users *don't* create their initial accounts on bluesky. If you control the initial rotation key for a DID:PLC account, and you control the DID:PLC directory, you still control their account.

As a small Komatsu shareholder I qualified for a free 1:87 scale model of an underwater construction robot. Not sure how many shares you need to get a full-sized one

Japan has botched the EV transition so badly that the only reasonably-priced fast charger for miles around is operated by this Taiwanese restaurant owner, who also operates an absolutely ginormous trampoline for mysterious reasons

Further downstream they have this library

Couldn't decide whether to go to see a brutalist building or a cool water tower while I was in Osaka but I chose the brutalist building and it turned out to have a cool water tower inside it. Incredibly blessed city
