"New Guy". Indianapolis RBA. Part time Wandrer. From North Central Indiana. The flat part.
Looking over more of the fun that our little group of Randonneurs knocked out this year: All 4 of R-12 nut jobs also picked up the Rouleur Award. Rouleur requires a 100k, a 125k, a 150k, a 200k, and a team dart pop (8 hours, 120km min).

These rides started all over the state.

I figure I should celebrate some of our club's big achievements this year. Indiana Randonneurs may be small, but damn do we have fun.

5 riders picked up one or both of the P-12 and R-12 awards this year. 12 straight months of a 100k-199k (P-12) or 200k+ (R-12) ride.

I picked up both in October.

As I look down from my perch at "the office", I cannot believe someone thought this was ever a good use of space.

And yes, that's about as full as I've ever seen it.

Between whatever form of the plague I contracted over the long weekend and the metric tons of white stuff overwhelming the local highway department, I'm a tad behind on my riding.

I also avoid metric centuries on studded tires for some reason, so the white menace needs to melt or get cleared soon.

We're getting to that 3 month stretch where continuing the monthly 100k/200k (P-12/R-12) streaks here in Indiana requires cherry picking good weather days or heading south.

I'm not looking forward to riding through snowdrifts again this year.

Post Ride. I got this before realizing that Electric Reindeer has been tapped.

This is the gravel I get. Flat. For miles.

A recent ride took me to Huntington, IN. The new roadside MUP I rode (along Etna Ave) was constructed differently than other MUPs I've seen.

They paved the trail AND all driveways from the road to about 10 feet past the trail, making the entire surface smooth and avoiding the usual transitions.

Nothing beats the mid-morning office routine of re-making both pots of coffee, except then spending a few minutes explaining to everyone why they can't get their cup immediately.

For my Carmel, IN area friends. Another large "office" complex (which is now mostly idle) will be changing to mixed-use development. Details TBD.

Another 100k in the books (P-25). My friend and I went with the tailwind and got picked up today. Managed 71ish miles.

A slight detour led to some wicked cool pics today!

Planning for a 100k perm on Saturday with huge winds. Debating on a loop route or inconveniencing someone to pick me up ~70 miles downwind.

Yes, most permanent rides are gamed to some extent.

Rode my November 200k permanent (R-13!) with my local Rando group today. 4 riders, we had to start late for reasons, started from an unusual spot, and some moron forgot his Garmin, so I had to do non-GPS proof of passage.

So I took a lot of photos of the controls today.

Is it really a day off if you don't ride your bike?

On the trip today. Rural school(?) in Cicero township, Tipton county, Indiana

Photos from the season closing 100k road ride.

The Carbondale tavern was a pleasant surprise in a remote part of the route. And one unnamed rider who had skipped breakfast insisted rather strongly that we stay for lunch.

Lots of Midwest Randonneurs came in for the party. I love our community.

Some pictures from today's gravel 100k pre-ride.

It's gonna be an awesome ride tomorrow. I will be joining the 100k non-gravel ride.

Knocked off a relaxing ride after lunch at work. Got the folding bike out (Zizzo Forte) and managed a few miles through Carmel. Drivers still have no idea how to deal with crosswalk traffic.

Choose your haunt this Saturday!

Are you tackling the Devil’s Dozen Road 100k (13 cemeteries!) or the Haunted Hills Graveyard Grind (45% gravel and 8 cemeteries)?

Both spooktacular routes start at a civilized 12:30 PM EST.

Photos from today's Dart Populaire (120k, 8hrs) which also served as my 3rd stop for #coffeeneuring. It was a double espresso.

The ride is my P-24, 2 full years of a 100-200km ride each month.

The ride was characterized by the excessive number of flats (4 tubes burned) and the massive downpours.

I've spent a couple of days away, obstensively because there's a ride, but more accurately because the Mrs. and I have a hard time getting away recently due to life, kids, aging dogs.

Somehow, a ride opened up on our only free weekend in months, in a place we both wanted to go.

I'm getting excited for upcoming end of season rides!

A completely superfluous Dart Pop in Cleveland, then local season closing populaires (100k gravel and road) the next week.

We will be celebrating the end of the 11 year tenure of the former RBA (Bill Watts) and having a huge party afterwards.

Quick little spin today through my rural backyard. Only place I could find with coffee was this little gas station. Anyway, enjoyed my drink in the parking lot with a couple of cookies. #2

Crane Cruise today in NW Indiana. Sand Cranes, a cool bridge, and a cup of coffee. That counts for #coffeeneuring, right?
