Spent a quiet minute this morning to remind myself of how fortunate I am to have this space exactly how I want it. No minimalist power-desk here.

Goog gravy, this Nostromo build is wonderful.

It's a rebrickable build of the recent Millenium Falcon, by Creation Caravan, and it's awesome. :)

That day (11,11) comes round again and once again I thank my grandfather for his courage in WW1 and drink a toast to his memory.

My latest weapon in the fight against data harvesting, AI propagation and the eroding of ownership. My new (to me) X220 is running Linux Mint, is portable, upgradable and I decide absolutely what software goes on it.

It's very refreshing and ideal for everyday tasks.

No, it won't run Crysis.

62 today, and some absolute bangers incoming. The fam / friends know me soooo well. I’m a very lucky fella.

@andreworton.bsky.social Antiques Roadshow last night featured a chair that had appeared in Dr.Who and Blake’s Seven but no-one could trace its origin. I knew straight away - it’s a Luigi Colani from 1970 (see brown chair at mid-left in pic). His work was featured in many 70’s sci-fi series.

My boy sent me this last night - he’s at ’The Royal Philharmonic plays Metal Gear’ at the Albert Hall, including video clips and some of the voice cast live.

I’m not jealous at all.

I should post something positive every now and then so here's a pic of my daughter's ADORABLE miniature schnauzer pup Suki.

No way! I did exactly the same thing here in Croatia 2 days ago. The bees seem to like it. I’m hoping it’s asteroid born and creating giant intelligent zombie bees.

Folks who do this aren't seeing the bigger picture.

The only 'epidemic' here is one of denial. We've always been here, struggling to fit in.

Every new desktop / laptop computer I get has to have this working - along with a genuine vintage controller. Yes, I have a vintage PS1 too - but you can't set that up in a cafe (I have various hand-helds as well but don't like small screens). :)

New book aquisition! Well, a book I last read aged about 10, which was 51 years ago.

I have multiple personal connections to both this book, its cover (by the author's brother Bryan) and the story itself.

This is a real touchstone to my past and helped kickstart my love of sci-fi and art.

Watching Andor season 2 and explaining to my wife that the Stormtroopers don't look quite right. They're 95% there but they're competing with what I saw as a 15 year old in 1978. So, they're not there for me, but for the newer fans. This is me in my ANH gear - as happy as a trooper can be. :)

If you see this, quote with a robot that isn’t from “Star Wars,” “Star Trek,” “Dr. Who,” or “Transformers (Hard mode: No Terminators)

Repost with something you own that most people don't.

"Game Companies Want To Be Able To Replace Actors With AI Replicas In The Next Strike, Union Says"

Proof that your value as a creative is no more important to management than that of a slave.

Seems @cstross.bsky.social has it right.

I love this shot too - just done by jamming my phone through the doorway. Lovely shadows on that back wall, which is actually about 5 inches tall. :)

I'm loving the work that @robotwig.com does with action figures and sets and there's some crossover with pictures of my 1:18 scale scratch built APC that's nearing completion. Especially shots like this.

I couldn't be happier with the service from Oxfam Online. Well worth considering if you're looking for niche books and are tired of eBay prices. They might not have what you want but definitely worth trying out.
