No joke: I got angry hate mail today for writing an obituary of a Black woman scientist—because the person felt she did didn’t deserve the recognition.

Which just makes me want to share it again: www.nature.com/articles/d41...
Gladys Mae West obituary: mathematician who pioneered GPS technology
She made key contributions to US cold-war science despite facing huge barriers as a Black woman.

A majestic Great Blue Heron in full feathered regalia today in Central Park amongst geese & duck, ice & -4 Fahrenheit windchills waiting for the monster snowstorm heading our way Sunday.

The best real & virtual timeline cleanse ever given the awful & unrelenting political news cycle.

This is the most astonishing graph of what the Trump regime has done to US science. They have destroyed the federal science workforce across the board. The negative impacts on Americans will be felt for generations, and the US might never be the same again.

Never has a President wagged a dog harder than Trump and MAGA now.

To distract from Epstein, the explosion of health and homeowners insurance costs, and the tariffs that are decimating small businesses, Trump is plunging this country into a war and using our soldiers as pawns.

And there it is.
During Fiona Hill's testimony to Congress on Oct 14, 2019, she described how Trump and Putin discussed exchanging Ukraine for Venezuela. The quid pro quo was if Trump refuses to help Ukraine fight off a Russian invasion, Putin would not help Venezuela (a Russian ally) resist a US takeover.

Thank you for your observation.

But now can you please do:

What are the legal and / or constitutional actions that can be taken against these presidential edicts that do not seem based on facts or laws?

Can a President simply unleash the military against citizens for no reason???
How extreme is the June 7 Memorandum on federalizing the National Guard?

One of several issues: It has NO geographic limit. None. No mention of California or any other state. It's open-ended.

Now this from President Trump: "Well, we're going to have troops everywhere."⬇️
Trump: Well, we're going to have troops everywhere.

Reporter: What’s the bar for sending in the Marines

Trump: The bar is what I think it is.

Hey Democratic Party!!! How is this ok if the guy not only made the Nazi salute but is reportedly responsible for 300,000 deaths of children who depended on USAID???

Not OK democrats - NOT OK
🟡 NEW: Rep. Ro Khanna is working to pull Elon Musk toward Democrats and talked with one of Musk’s “senior confidants” on Thursday about whether he might want to help the Democratic Party in the midterms.
