🎯PH👏. Australia didn't & never will deserve a COP. Thanks go TAI for huge efforts to call out the egregious hypocrisy of the duopoly & its contemptible cabal of career politicians.

Australia (an increasingly authoritarian petrostate) did quite a lot of bullying of its own. Internationally and domestically. Australia has been gaming COPs for decades. COP31 would have been no different. We are just better at greenwashing 🙂

Sorry if I was a bit flippant. I guess I was reacting to the headline which was probably a bit unfair. When you hear about the electoral systems around the world, I get pretty defensive of ours. I think it is the best of a bunch. Justin Wolfer's Boyer Lecture was inspiring.

We definitely want preferential voting, we just need to find a way to educate Australians as to how it works.
The 'throwing your vote away' rhetoric works very well for the duopoly.

wow, RC. I'll be first to admit I'm an idiot but why did you assume FPTP? I was thinking more Prop Rep as outlined in The Point; u did read the article, no?

Who cares, preferential voting is our system. What an idiotic premise to even pose the question. Do we really want ridiculous first past the post voting? I think not.
