A huge congratulations and thanks to our school choir, led by Lois, and students learning a musical instrument with Kip, for entertaining us so beautifully this week at our Winter celebration events. There is so much musical talent in school!

A group of our girls in school spent a day at the local Mare & Foal Sanctuary this week, grooming, mucking out and enjoying time with the gorgeous horses and ponies. We think the animals enjoyed their visit as much as they did!

Today our students took part in an exciting Boccia tournament at Clennon Valley Leisure Centre, with four teams representing us; two in the primary event and two in the secondary event.
We’re thrilled to share that both age groups earned Silver and Bronze medals in their respective competitions!

A massive well done to Cedar class and thanks to everyone who has supported their cause. Our donation of £61.20 has ensured that six families will get essential hygiene supplies for three months. What a wonderful gesture which will have a real impact on the communities.

Wow. How great are these?! Oak class looked at the work of American, ‘graffiti-inspired artist’ Keith Haring and used it as inspiration for their own pieces. They focused on bold lines, simplified figures, patterns and movement lines as Keith did whilst putting their own slant on it.

“Positivity pebbles" with a slight difference. Larch wrote little positive comments on thin pieces of woot and have placed them around the grounds for others to find.
This is part of a WAVE initiative called Planet Earth, to raise awareness of our responsibility for the world around us.

Oak class have been out and about for Life Skills starting the Newton Abbot Treasure Trail. They have been following directions, hunting for and solving clues all whilst working on managing themselves and keeping safe out in the community.

As part of their Duke of Edinburgh award, Year 10 did some volunteering by cleaning up our local waterways. Using a hauling system, teamwork and a lot of effort we pulled out a huge amount of rubbish. These were collected by the council and taken straight to the recycling centre.

🎵 Cedar and Willow classes were treated to a wonderful afternoon of music with our fabulous Visiting Music Teacher, Kip, who led sessions on ‘storytelling and composition’ in each class. Here are Cedar class, composing and playing music based around their ‘Castles’ topic! 🎵

It’s been a particularly busy week in school with lots of different key events. Every class has marked Anti-Bullying Week with activities based on a different theme each day. How wonderful is this poster, made by one of our lovely Sycamore students?!

Cedar class have worked really hard to raise money for the Myanmar earthquake appeal. We baked a range of goodies, made posters and leaflets and ran a cake sale. We have raised over £60 for the appeal, which we know will help to provide blankets, food and drinking water for several families.

Sycamore Class visited Yarner Woods on the edge of Dartmoor for their outdoor learning session. Yarner woods are known for ancient woodland, rare mosses and lichens and birds. We spent some time in the bird hide, looking at the remains of some huge ant nest and walking through this amazing woodland.

🧦 Today was all about the socks! 🧦 Odd Socks Day marks the start of Anti-Bullying Week, which we are marking in school with a series of daily sessions based around tackling bullying. Odd Socks Day 2025 is supported by cBeebies presenter & ABA patron Andy Day and his band 'Andy and the Odd Socks'. 🧦

🥉We would like to extend our congratulations to George in Year 10, who did amazingly in his jujitsu competition this weekend. He was pushed up two age categories which meant he was against 16/17 year olds and still walked away with a bronze medal! Well done George and keep up the great work!🥉

Cedar and Willow Classes took part in Glendinning's own pumpkin picking event 🎃 — and it was fang-tastic! 🦇 A little rain couldn’t squash their spirits as they explored the school grounds, hunting for hidden pumpkins and spooky jokes planted by our mischievous teachers 👻

Our ideas were sticking together better than the spaghetti! Juniper had a tower-ific time building spaghetti and marshmallow masterpieces — proof that learning can be pasta-tively fun!

Cedar's Outdoor Learning continued... The hedgehog week was perfectly time with Hilary the hoglet being discharged from ELM animal hospital, ready for release the weekend after all our hard work! She is now back home with Remy, Banoffee and Toad our other resident hedgehogs.

🍁 Cedar class have loved getting hands-on during our Outdoor Learning sessions. They are learning about our school environment and animals with a focus of learning about the season of Autumn.🍁

As part of their outdoor learning Larch Class went to Stover Park. The pupils completed a navigation quest around the lake finding different points to get to. We stopped off for fun session where we got the slackline and hammock out for some pupils whilst the others played games in the woods.

Eco Club completed a School Waste Audit with Devon County Council. Our students weighed all of our recycling, then all of our general waste. It was really interesting to see what a good job we are already doing but also highlighting our next steps as a school to reduce, reuse and recycle.

Year 11 pupils completed their Duke of Edinburgh expedition.m over two days canoeing along the historic Grand Western Canal, demonstrating all of the D of E characteristics including resilience, team work and adventure. The pupils have now achieved their Duke of Edinburgh Bronze Award.
