As much as I don’t trust tech orgs as a whole, I have to say Apple do outperform the others UX wise tenfold honestly.

Everything is just there, where you expect it, and it just works. No drivers or arbitrary apps required.

I wish they’d stop with the “Apple intelligence” thing though.

Open vs closed source systems in a nutshell.

Open source is hyped as "customisable" but gets bogged down in complexity. One wrong move and the whole thing breaks. Need 3rd party software for everything.

When it comes to smartphones, closed source should be default imo.

*For any avoidance of doubt:

✅Endiring diverse cast and representation of minorities should *absolutely* be a key part of the show’s identity.

They’ve fought hard to get here. The challenge now is ensuring no one is flattened into a stereotype.

📺👀Media shapes how we see each other. If too many straight, white men are shown as dangerous or broken, we’re just feeding the divide.

Doctor Who has always had social commentary. But it should be careful not to stoke the thing it critiques.

Thought it needed saying.

Men can be flawed, as any individual can be.

However when straight, white men are so often the villains, it feeds a narrative that only pushes people further apart.

❌It’s not helping anyone—just creating more distrust. Division. Just what algorithms feed.
May 7, 2025 at 2:27 PM
The more those groups grow, the more writers think they’re doing the right thing by doubling down.

All it does is push the narrative further. It’s a loop of division: the “red pill” crowd gets louder.📢

The decent, nuanced lot stay quiet in fear of being lumped in with them.🤫
May 7, 2025 at 2:27 PM
When every straight, white man is shown as broken or evil (or irrelevant) it doesn’t challenge toxic masculinity, it feeds it unintentionally.

👉The "red pill" crowd eat it up. They see proof that they’re right. It just gives them more ammo, and the cycle keeps growing.

Absolutely love this, Andrew!

Love the methodology. Simple, scalable, and works beautifully in creating not just a useable map but one that resembles the UK!

Excellent work. These should be rolled out at major stations nationally!

You’d have to endure people didn’t use it for intra-city travel within city regions, but in theory something like that could create a true poly-centric “mega city” making journeys seemless.

Probs too late for N/S now, but maybe NPR could be such?
March 18, 2025 at 2:39 PM
I mean obviously it’s complete rubbish from the Sun as per, but it does get you thinking…

What would an HSR system with multiple stops per city region look like? Imagine getting on at Tottenham Court Road, and off in a dense Mcr Suburb…
March 18, 2025 at 2:39 PM
Fully agree.

Should need a permit for reasonable use cases (I.e off-road purposes such as forestry, rescue vehicles etc)

But yeah, in the UK there’s barely anywhere you need such a vehicle. Definitely not in urban areas!

(Not to mention the headlights blinding drivers in smaller cars!)

Exactly!

And chances are when you *do* get your appointment (as I do) you present when you're "at your best" which is paradoxically not how you want doctors see you in order to understand it.

Man, ADHD and anxiety etc are so hard to deal with, because it's so hard to convey accurately.

Regardless of being a blue, If they pull this off in 5 years and it looks like the renders, hats off!

It'll be the first time the Manchester Ship canal is used so intensively since the closure of the docks.
March 12, 2025 at 1:58 PM
Aha so relatable Chris!

The irony of trying to get an ADHD diagnosis is that it's so easy to "put off. I'll deal with it later" - which in itself is a symptom!

Like imagine the *audacity* to realise growth cannot be endless and build an economy which is thereby stable!

Excellent healthcare, meaningful jobs, close communities & bio-diversity galore.

Take note literally everywhere else! 👀

Costa Rica just seems to be winning on every meaningful measure.

Whilst the rest of supposed “developed nations” keep chasing endless growth, with nothing no show for it.

Costa Rica seems like a genuinely brilliant place to live. That’s success right there!

No. This is the imperfect, asymmetrical face I was born with.

Taken after a couple negronis and a Spanish measure of Hendricks Gin. 😉🍸

To be clear I want calling you out personally, just that we should all be wary of images that look too good to be true. Real life is way better! 👍

AI.
March 10, 2025 at 1:30 PM
The irony of course being that poor investment in social spending = poorer productivity = pooper economy = less equipped to handle conflict.

Neoliberal 1st order thinking is outdated. We should be thinking in 4th & 5th orders!
March 5, 2025 at 3:44 PM
Also if you take the buses out, does that not = more pressure on central line?

Plus bus diversions reducing utility of those major bus routes which could discourage usage?
February 28, 2025 at 2:40 PM
Still not sure how I feel about this.

Maybe part of it is a strong sense of feeling that the buses and black cabs need to be moving through it. It’s sort of what makes it imo!

It’s a vibe tbh. Coming from a sustainable transport advocate I know!
