BTW - For about 10 years I have been telling students of the "Network Programming" course, that IPv6 is practically around the corner, and a widespread transition to this protocol is a matter of a few years. The forecast is good, because it can be repeated every year in an unchanged form 😁.

Yeah! "Digital diary" was the name, PDAs came later with Psion and PalmPilot. Had one like this in early 90's can't remember the brand :( Even managed to produce a polish2english dictionary for it with its simple inernal database software. Could connect them to a PC, so much for connectivity in 90s.
