Mum…care experienced campaigner, feminist, passionate about the environment and making the world a better place. Exeter City Cllr for Duryard & St James
A deeply concerning approach by Labour, we have one planet and we are running out of time to save it, removing the right to challenge decisions is yet another example of an authoritarian government
Trumpian turn by Starmer. The fact that so many legal challenges succeed shows that the courts agree with them.

As @ruthtingay.bsky.social says, “economic growth based on environmental and climate degradation is a loser’s game.”

Last night I voted in favour - but to be clear I do not support a mayoral structure and I do not support the dictatorial way in which the government are forcing change through, I support Exeters bid to become a UA, but I am angry that the government have given us no choice and no time
Councillors have unanimously backed plans for Exeter to set out its intention to become a unitary authority under plans for devolution and local government reorganisation.

A pretty grim sight at the disused garage site on Vic Street this weekend , now with the EH team and hoping for some enforcement to the landowner to keep it clean, tidy and in good order

Such a lovely afternoon and great to chat to our local Muslim community - as always such lovely warm hospitality and hopefully closer links and opportunities to support
Supporting and understanding Exeter's Muslim population at the weekend with Lib Dem councillor Tammy Palmer and Labour's Jakir Hussein. Such a privilege to see afternoon prayers at Exeter Mosque. @gingernutfox.bsky.social

Assisted dying is an extremely complex issue - it requires calm, compassionate discussion on all perspectives, I can only imagine how many MPs will be feeling at this moment and it’s important we don’t judge or criticise their vote, or contribution, not one MP will make their decision lightly

I’m sad to see this… we’ve all made mistakes as young people, also her conviction was spent and she should be allowed to move on with her life - just as any other individual in employment following a similar situation should be able to.
I simply cannot believe Starmer has accepted a resignation from one of his most relatable and ambitious cabinet members over this matter. It was fully declared. There has been no deception.

Labour has GOT to stop running scared to achieve anything at all.

This is one of the most baffling meetings I’ve ever attended how on earth can I be expected to agree to something as important as this when I’ve never seen it
Over the past 2 years, we have welcomed the public consultation process. Now, Labour need to be accountable for what they choose to include - and leave out of - the new Local Plan.

It is therefore shocking Labour have prevented any meaningful Cllr input or scrutiny over its content. 1/2
