Singapore, on the way to Adelaide. Currently relaxing in a nice and quiet Singapore Cricket Club before I go and check-in at the hotel. One of the most prestigious clubs in the world and I'm still allowed through the door. No, me neither, but it's wonderful.

At Sophia Gardens for Glamorgan v Lancs. It's not a new ground tick, but it's the first time I've seen Lancs here. Ground 39 with Lancs and I've now seen us at all 18 county grounds.

In a world that's fast forgetting the lessons of history it's important to take a step back and remember moments like this. Because, let's be fair, if the ruling classes today thought they'd get away with shooting strikers and protesters, they definitely would.

Today is the anniversary of the Plug Plot Riots in Preston, part of the 1842 General Strike. The military were ordered to open fire on striking workers and four people were killed. I've taken the chance tonight to visit the memorial and the two pubs that are named in honour.
