September's reading was pretty varied: I loved James but wasn't mad keen on Butter, was shocked by Ask Not and moved by @ElizaKnight's new novel (out June 26). #JayMcInerney's druggy tale was a reread and #MaeveBrennan was a real find. What did you read last month? #bookstagram

Why did #PrincessDiana visit Wallis Simpson's Paris house just hours before her death? Find out in Another Woman's Husband, currently on an #ebook #deal in the US. It was an @USATODAY bestseller and Diana's biographer Andrew Morton called it "Clever". Enjoy! #booksworthreading

My next newsletter will be about the #gossip and #scandals when I was writing my 4th novel, #TheAffair. It's set in Rome in 1962, when #ElizabethTaylor and #RichardBurton fell in love. I got unique insights and snaps from a pal of Burton's. For the inside story, sign up here: bit.ly/3x9ZQf3

Authors consider Goodreads a scary place because readers leave very honest (sometimes brutal) reviews there. So it's especially gratifying when one of my novels reaches 1000 ratings with an average score over 4 out of 5. Huge thanks to all who have read and reviewed or rated. #review #bookstagram

My March reads had settings ranging from 17th-century Puritan Boston to 1930s Dustbowl Kansas, 1920s/30s Salzburg to 1970s/80s Dorset, 1990s London and contemporary France and UK. I thought all of them were fabulous. #bookrecommendations #historicalfiction What did you read?
