A few large landlords can be easier to regulate than thousands of independent ones, but they probably have more political heft as well. Idk, moral of the story is it’s complicated and focusing on landlord size is maybe not that important compared to other things

I’m pro those rent freezes, the goal of YIMBYism is for people to be able to live where they want and you can’t achieve that if people are being displaced by rising rent. Definitely rooting for mamdani

I’m not opposed to getting 1,000 units into the market using a vacancy tax but I don’t see how that’s better than getting 100,000 units into the market with new construction
