What makes an investigative podcast unforgettable?

At #GIJC25, audio storytellers said: emotion. @suelinwong.bsky.social’s most-remembered moment in The Prince wasn’t analysis – it was a quiet chat in a kitchen.

Roll everything, find the right voices, let moments breathe. https://twp.ai/9PYT91

Today at #GIJC25 in Malaysia, more than 1,500 journalists from 100+ countries call on governments to free arbitrarily detained reporters, end impunity, and protect media freedom.

Journalists are not criminals or targets. Protecting them means protecting truth itself.

But journalists have a long history of standing up for one another – from Mexico’s tributes to Regina Martínez to global support for Hong Kong’s @SupportJimmyLai, from U.S. outlets resisting Pentagon restrictions to mass protests after the killing of Ján Kuciak.
November 21, 2025 at 6:27 AM
Beyond war zones, governments & powerful actors are weaponizing laws, courts, spyware, & online abuse to silence reporting.

>370 journalists were jailed in 2024 – a record high – many for exposing corruption, crime, politics, or abuses. Their work strengthens society; their persecution weakens it.
November 21, 2025 at 6:27 AM

Journalism is facing its deadliest moment since @pressfreedom began tracking in 1992. As democracy retreats and autocracy rises, attacks on a free press are surging – from killings and imprisonment to surveillance and exile.

In Gaza alone, 240+ journalists have been killed.
