Chronic rambler. Questionably percievable. Interaction invited. We like nerd shit and cats.

That isn't the case here.

And yeah, it'll take a while to accept. That's okay. It's going to be uncomfortable and gross feeling though

(I don't take my own advice ever so you should take it for me lolol)

You're right. Don't let yourself spiral over something you can't control. But DO let yourself process all the feeling that come with what happened.

Highlighting that I'm NOT saying I'm ungrateful or have it as bad as kids who have been in the foster system or even as bad as so many people I know. I'm fed, and others in my household cook food that I can eat freely from, and do the majority of the grocery shopping and don't keep that food from me

I won't get yelled at, or kept from a meal, or find an empty fridge. But there is a level of instability that I've been ignoring because it doesn't feel real enough to have an effect. I don't feel safe. Emotionally.

If my mom doesn't want to handle something, like picking out the cat food the vet recommended for the family cat, and I bring it up, it becomes my job to buy it or nothing changes

Writing that we're out of something on the grocery list is always a risk that I'll be asked to buy it instead, even if other people eat it and even if I can't afford it

I fought to be able to eat anything at any time of day because snacking was frowned upon and all food had to be low-sauce, low-seasoning, farm-to-fork. Eating within two hours of Meal Time wasn't allowed, but Meal Times fluctuated by 1-2 hours daily

I still buy and hoard my own food in my room because, though they cook and there's always some food around, anything that I like to eat (or will eat) is considered an Extra Expense that I should pay for. Anything my mom likes is standard groceries, even if it's specialized or organic or expensive

Like getting a new apartment because a roommate is moving out instead of having to find a whole new empty apartment yourself
