I read books and watch figure skating and chase around a toddler. My job is politics/policy. Nevadan but always a Michigander at heart. J! alum.
Mone looks like she's gonna ralph. Combo solid but then down on the loop and down AGAIN on the salchow. Oh no poor thing. 2A clean. She's settling down, jumps are landing, but her nerves are still all over her face. Good on her for not giving up! It was a good recovery but not enough.

Alysa also seems like she's having fun out there but it's a different kind of feeling than Ami, more insouciance. Does anyone lock in when she needs to like Alysa? It feels less like she's performing for the audience than that she's doing it for her own amusement but inviting us in.

This is the program of Ami's that feels juniory to me, though her skating itself feels senior, lots of speed. Lovely 3A. Down on the lutz but recovers nicely with the sal. She also has very nice glide. Huge sequence after the halfway mark. She's very charming, projects a sweetness and joy.

Rinka's 3A combo looked under on both jumps but she got it off. Second 3A also looked under but landed. She's getting through everything with steely determination, which is to say with intensity but not a lot of expression otherwise. Spins seem slow but maybe the angles?

Sakamoto next. Starting with that perfect 2A, I loooove it. She has so much flow and glide, it's so lovely to watch. She's wonderfully expressive, it's captivating. Late 3-3! Oh no missed the second 2A, only a single. I love her, she's magnificent.

Yuma also is just flying around the rink. Salchow looked a little wonkus in the air but landed smoothly. A little too scratchy on the combo to get the triple off, only a double. Such deep knee bend on his jump landings. He is just so spellbinding to watch.

Shun has a ton of speed but scratchy landing on the lutz. 3A combo much better. Jumps are looking super solid but as even his performance is muted and it keeps me from getting into the program. Feels like he's off from the music in the steps, not hitting the highlights.

More new costumes and this is nice but a downgrade for Ilia. He just makes these quads look so EASY. He had so much time on the 4A. He's locked in. Spins are honestly very solid, especially for a man. Holy wow seven quads.

There's at least some camp value to this program on Grassl? Opening lutz didn't look as awful as normal, he's hitting all his jumps thus far. 3A in to combo definitely looked under. His posture is so bad. I hate his skating but this is honestly as good as he's been all season.

Another new costume on Adam, thank goodness. Lutz looked off in the air but landed smoothly enough. He just THROWS himself into his choreo. Oh this costume reveal is still there, huh? Ooof 3A. Jumps are really escaping him now. Finishing strong though!

C/B's strength has always been performance, especially from Madi, and this program does well to highlight that. Evan looks tired.

FB/C are truly bananas talented and this program shows off their speed and power so well, though tbh it is awfully flaily. Oh wow she just ate it badly, looks like her skirt got caught in her blade.

P/G's speed is really evident right after the Brits. This program is so lovely on them.
December 6, 2025 at 9:09 PM
F/G are really performing the heck out of this, much less hesitant than they seemed yesterday.

R/A's rotational lift slaps. Their material is so good for them this season, it really plays to their strengths.
