Northwest Portlanders, if you have any free time today, there are striking workers at Legacy Hospital on 22nd between Overton and Northrup. Give them some support and love if you're in the area!!!

I don't know how I missed this but this is amazing.

The unfortunate reality is the political viability of "giving homeless people is the best solution" is zero, despite it being proven to work with lots of studies.

We need to change that.
An Oregon pilot program giving cash to homeless youths sees a staggering reduction in homelessness. The program gave participants $1,000 cash payments each month for two years, and at the end of the project's first phase, 91% of participants reported being in stable housing.

Looking forward to the city council to learn nothing from Michael Jordan's horrendous tenure and rubber-stamping this dude's nomination without any questioning.
Some other numbers comparing Greeley to Portland:

As city manager, Lee oversaw an annual budget of around $515 million. That’s about 6% of Portland’s current budget of $8.6 billion.

Greeley has around 1,600 city employees, less than a quarter of Portland’s roughly 7,000 city workers.
The roles of Portland’s city administrator differ slightly from Lee’s work as Greeley’s city manager.

Greeley operates under a council-manager style of government, where the seven-person city council includes the mayor. And the city’s admin work is overseen by its city manager, not the mayor.

I love that everybody now is just a lil smol bean that didn't know any better! Nobody is actually responsible for their actions anymore. Nobody has any free-will of their own anymore. It is the influence of the world around them that pulls the trigger.

The racist cop just had a bad childhood!!!!

HOW ABOUT THE FIRST STRIKE ASSHOLES?!?!?

IS THERE NO WAR CRIME IF THE MISSILE KILLS EVERYONE WITH NO SURVIVORS?!?!
Bash: "Do you believe if there was a second strike to eliminate any survivors that it constitutes a war crime?"

Mark Kelly: "It seems to."

Bash: "If you received that order, would you have carried it out?"

Mark Kelly: "No…Going after survivors in the water is unlawful."

38 traffic deaths in Portland this year???

There have been multiple ordeals about Portland's budget this year concerning $2 - $4 million dollars.

Yet no councilor has the courage to go after the police bureau after they paid out $3.75 million for killing an innocent man. The city council was "deeply disappointed" and moved on.

I really do appreciate when people willingly act like the 4 months of Jefferies withholding his endorsement after Mamdani won the Democratic primary wasn't a huge story.
AOC and Mamdani not backing a primary challenge to Jeffries is fine, actually.

It’s transactional, sure. But Jeffries did ultimately come around and endorse.

IMHO throwing a primary challenge at him now sends a message: Even if you do come around, we may still come after you.

Wow it's crazy developers can build a giant hotel for rich people downtown nobody wants but can't build any housing until we slash regulations

Wow I can't believe Democrats giving the Capitol Police $2.1 billion in the wake of the George Floyd protests didn't prevent this?!?!?

Remember the reason the government got restarted was Democrat lawmakers felt sad seeing Capitol Police working and not getting paid so they destroyed the ACA lol
MS NOW confirms: The FBI is working with Capitol Police to schedule interviews with the six Democratic lawmakers who urged service members to refuse to comply with illegal orders.

The shift over the 5 years from "look at the evil things our municipal police department has done and is doing in our city" to "imagine the evil things the national guard might do if they get deployed to our city" is very gross and disheartening.

DSA gets thousands of new members over the summer because people want to get rid of the Democrat old guard then DSA doesn't endorse someone because he wasn't a member of them for long enough.

Every left person for years: Trump is a fucking dumbass. Just stupid. Opinions change constantly, parrots whatever the last person in his ear was talking about. An imbecile. A brainless attention seeker.

Every left person after Zohran meets with Trump:oh my god, Zohran just outwitted the President!

This is pretty crazy. Phil Knight's Albina fund bailed out their friend's (son of a timber baron) purchase of those grain silos by steel bridge for likely triple the amount he paid for it. Pays to be a dumbass that sets tire shreds on fire. This area will not get better unless I-5 disappears.
The 1803 Fund didn’t disclose a price, but a lender’s financial report suggests it was at least $6.4 million.

Big test for Zohran today. He could potentially secure hundreds of billions of dollars in yearly federal funding by promising Trump's favorite Broadway shows are back on Broadway doing daily shows.
