Yesterday the German Federal Government announced Germany’s first-ever Space Safety and Security Strategy.

The strategy seeks to address the role of space in both civilian and military matters, in alignment with the German government’s goal of “Security, Prosperity, and Freedom.”

It was a privilege to be a juror in the inaugural GAC essay contest, which asked respondents what steps they would take to reinvigorate the transatlantic partnership. During the conference I recognized the finalists: Samuel Hasenpusch, Febin Roy, and Maximilian Schlenker. Well done!

Today, the US observes #VeteransDay.

🇩🇪 and 🇺🇸 share a special military history, with hundreds of thousands of 🇺🇸 troops stationed in Germany since 1949. Their service has been a core part of our partnership.

The U.S. maintains 40+ military installations in Germany, which support our mutual security.

Do it in Germany! Located only 40 miles away from Berlin, Westhavelland Nature Park was designated as Germany’s first Dark Sky Reserve in 2014. Due to the lack of light pollution, the Milky Way is visible with the naked eye.

Nowadays, the Reichstag building in Berlin is the seat of Germany’s parliament and one of the top tourist attractions of the city.

Even though Boston had its 13th consecutive weekend of rain, today there were rainbows all around 🌈

Together with colleagues from 🇨🇦🇲🇽🇵🇹🇮🇪🇬🇧🇳🇱 the German Consualte Boston was proud to march in this year’s Boston Pride Parade under the banner of Diplomats for Equality 🏳️‍🌈.

This weekend, we celebrated Monika Dane, who is retiring after working at the Consulate for 53 years.

Throughout her career, Monika assisted clients with Wiedergutmachung, restitution from the German state provided to Holocaust survivors.

Last week a delegation of government, science, and business leaders from the 🇩🇪 state of Thuringia, led by State Premier Mario Voigt, visited CT and MA.

Under the motto “Inspire. Connect. Engage.” the delegation met with reps. of New England’s advanced manufacturing, biotech, and academic sectors.
