This is a tricky one, the full piece is worth a read. It was also written in 2018. I realise he played there in 2024 - and I don't know if that was a good decision or not - but I do think it's important we don't conflate Israel and Netanyahu's government.

Yeah, lots of scouring copyright dates involved. We've only got Witch Lord, but I've got Space Crusade with both the expansions to check next. The Advanced Heroquest and Advanced Space Crusade. And Blood Bowl. And Space Hulk...!

Yeah my brother and I were all over this stuff, we had so many of the GW games. Lots of them O/P now indeed. Early eBay tells me Heroquest is everywhere, but my copy of Titan Legions might be worth a chunk of change...

Tbh my first though on the 'open source' phrasing was that it was an interesting perspective. It's a neatly contemporary way of framing the underlying mechanics of folklore, with the implications of dissemination and refinement. For a first encounter, sounds pretty perceptive to me.
