Quick reaction to UK's Foreign Sec suggestion that recognition of Palestine won't affect things on the ground:
Hard to argue it will make them worse. It will afirm Palestinian right to sovereignty (and therefore highlight Israel's many ways of infringing it), + might also lead to more recognitions.
