Former WWF wrestler Chad Fortune also ended up driving the Superman monster truck for a few years. The wrestler to monster truck driver pipeline was STRONG in the early 2000s.

I think she retired a couple years ago, but she was around for a long time and was the first female Monster Jam World Champion for both racing and freestyle.

It was some time around there. Monster trucks pervaded WCW for a long time. Even when the official deal was up Goldberg went and got his own monster truck, which still runs today (sort of) under a different name.

One thing that was good about the show was how much time they gave things to breathe. They had a shock tag title change at the start of the show and were still mentioning it by the end of the hour. Wrestling shows today have quick segments that are never brought up again.

My first encounter with Eric Van Lustbader was finding a hardcover copy of “White Ninja” in a thrift store. I bought it thinking it would be a silly book about a white guy who’s a ninja and then chapter one was a detailed rape and murder scene.
