I do labor organizing. Before I can ask workers if they’re ready to strike, they gotta be willing to wear a button in public. But there has to be a structure in place to guide people through each action as we test to see what works and what doesn’t

I think of it in terms of escalation. No, I do not trust the No Kings planners to be a part of that escalation, but maybe the muscles that brought people to that platform can be strengthened if we direct their energy elsewhere. All we can do is catch people and build those networks.

I know a great many people who are sympathetic to the left but lack an outlet in their day to day lives to express their frustrations in this moment. To me, No Kings is like warm ups. Maybe if you can put aside time for this you’ll be ready for something more soon.
