Last night I honed the jumping mechanic and added dashing. Both will be perks that can be unlocked to provide evasion tech to melee oriented classes. And why not Matrix-style gunslingers. Your call.

Last week I started on the perk system and it now works for unique skills. Besides that I got distracted by yet another new class and JUMPING.
...which isn't super straightforward when your game is orthographic.

Base for a skill called Turret's Syndrome! The goal is that the turret inherits your own weapon, be it a lot of firepower or even a melee weapon.
So far the base is there, the turrets seek out the closest target and fire on it independently.

Added damage popup's to enemies and created a system that gives the option to add random variation to base damage. Here, the LMG damage is 12 with +-2 randomness. Honestly, this was only because it was boring to see a flat number pop up.

Took a break from the tedious stuff to work a little on a new class. The Wablock summons tiny demon blocks to attack your enemies, BUT without enemies, they will TURN ON YOU.

Okay they don't do anything yet but those are my plans.

Changed the EXP system of my game from just killing enemies to them dropping exp shards with varying amount of experience. Also added a bunch of effects around these, as well as a short period of slowed time when leveling up.

Last night I made a basic framework for EXP system, next I plan to have the enemies drop shards that give exp instead of just having to whack them.

Over the weekend I worked on creating a pooling system to handle large amounts of enemies.
Despawning isn't 100% there yet but it's shaping up.

Lots of little tweaks to do to the existing stuff but I have the EXP system on my plate too.

We are now showing the name and current health of whatever you're aiming at.

For those who didn't know, I'm not a programmer so this is a HUGE win for me.

Will do some graphics for the health bar later, as well as some minor improvements.
